Joe Shen, Video Artist and Computer Programmer
After receiving his Master's degree from Carnegie-Mellon University, Joe started working in the computer graphics industry with special interests in human-computer interactions and user interface designs. For the past 15 years, he has created many original computer artworks and developed many software tools for the creative communities around the world.
Joe is passionate about applying contemporary science and technology to the field of visual arts and music. Some of his technical skills are: Multimedia Programming (C++, DirectX, OpenGL, MIDI); Web Scripting (Perl, PHP, MySQL, Apache); Unix and Windows Systems and Network Administration.
Currently a principal software engineer with Raytheon Company, Joe is also a consultant with UCSB on high performance computing and Roto Studio in Ohio on museum and exhibition projects. He lives in Santa Barbara, California with his wife and two daughters.
